And I knew I wanted to be a professional musician. So when I entered the Glenn Gould school, it was the perfect place for me. That's how I felt at the time, the environment, the people. My teacher, I was so excited and I was very energized and looking forward to being in this field. My fourth year was extremely difficult. The reality of what waited me after I was done school, it was starting to sink in. Which was that although I played the trumpet really well, I don't have any other marketable skills. And quite frankly, I just was not at the level I needed to be to win a professional position.
